1976 Arthur Teller 214 Cello w/hardshell case

Arthur Teller, a member of the renowned Teller family, made a significant mark in the world of lutherie by crafting high-quality violin bridges in Bubenreuth, Germany. After World War II, Arthur and his family, like many other instrument makers, relocated to Bubenreuth as part of the town’s initiative to revitalize the community by attracting skilled luthiers. Arthur's meticulous craftsmanship quickly gained recognition, allowing him to expand his business from supplying local luthiers to reaching customers worldwide.

This cello, originally purchased in 1976 in Chicago, Illinois, has been cherished by a single owner and remains in excellent condition. It offers a beautifully balanced tone across all registers, making it a true gem for any musician.

Notably, the instrument was carefully serviced by Misha Parshenov, a Connecticut-based luthier who also works with the New York Philharmonic, in 2015, when the ebony fingerboard and bridge were replaced. More recently, in 2024, Grun Oak performed additional maintenance, including replacing the bridge and addressing some minor seam repairs.
The hardshell case is by Bobelock cases.
