Gustav August Ficker 4/4 Violin
About:
This violin has quite the life so far. From what we understand, this instrument was made in Germany by the workshop or private maker, Gustav August Ficker. These high quality instruments were then sold to William and Sons in Chicago throughout the 20th century. Made with quality wood and quality craftsmanship, they stand against time and still play very well. This one has been adjusted with new strings but was in fantastic condition when we received it, leaving us with little work to get it back in playing condition. It is a full size, 4/4, violin and is currently outfitted with D'addario Prelude strings. It has one fine tuner on the E string. It comes with an authentic case that holds two bows. Included with the instrument are two older wooden bows. This instrument would be a good step up for any student looking to advance their playing. The older wood gives it a warmer, balanced tone but also a level of nuance that newer instruments take time to develop.
